Fun & Creativity
Art
Art is a natural activity to support free play in children. The freedom to manipulate different materials in an organic and unstructured way allows for exploration and experimentation. Art allows youth to practice a wide range of skills that are useful not only for life, but also for learning.
Music
Preschoolers love listening or singing along to music. Studies show that a rich musical environment does not only entertain kids but also helps them to develop essential music skills.
Movement
Movement causes the brain to produce endorphins, chemicals that increase both the child’s energy levels and her ability to learn. Movement also sends oxygen to the brain, which aids in the thought process.
Language and Literacy
Preschool language literacy activities are implemented in four general forms: reading, writing, speaking and listening. Activities may incorporate all or some of these categories. Students are exposed and given several opportunities to share with peers, listen to the ideas of others, and practice basic reading and writing skills. Activities include...story retelling, oral language activities, phonemic awareness activities, and sound/letter introduction that is systematic and logical. Students learn that letters and sounds have meaning and purpose.
Mathematics
Our preschool math activities are designed to help our students develop essential early math skills. These activities will support your child in learning how to count, sort, and classify objects and shapes across multiple games and projects.
Outside Play
With the current trend of rising
obesity rates in children, it has never been more important to teach young children the value of being active outside.
Playing in sandboxes, collecting leaves, working in a garden, and painting outdoors teaches children practical life skills while offering a tremendous amount of fun.
Research shows that children who spend significant amounts of time outdoors have significantly lower ADHD symptoms as well.
Get outside and play ya'll!.
