ReGina Harvey is a graduate of the OSSD class of 1992. She is the Owner of SBP and the Executive Director. She has been working with children since she was 15 years old.   She received her Bachelor’s of Education in 2003. She has taught in several school districts throughout MS. Most of her career she taught in kindergarten, but has also taught in PreK 4, first, third, first/second multi-age, and sixth grade. She received her Master’s of Educational Literacy in 2005 leading her to begin training teachers in reading and writing at the MS Reading Conference, Americorp, and Biloxi Public Schools. She is a published author on ReadWriteThink.org, Reading Conference Journal, and the MS Press. She dreams of one day publishing children’s literature. In 2014, she began her dyslexia therapy training and opened a 501c3 called Mississippi Gulf Coast Center for Dyslexia in 2015. By 2017, she knew it was going to take more than providing therapy to 10 students at a time to make a real difference. This began the culmination for S.M.A.R.T Beginnings, LLC and the doors opened on September 5, 2017.
